I am writing to ask you to support AB 1921, the Protect Our Games Act, authored by Assemblymember Chris Ward.

When I buy a video game, I expect to actually own it. Right now, publishers can shut down a game I paid for and leave me with nothing, like Ubisoft did when it killed The Crew. AB 1921 fixes that. It simply requires publishers to provide a working version, a patch, or a refund for their games. It only applies to games sold on or after January 1, 2028, and it exempts subscription titles.

This is a common-sense consumer protection bill. It already passed the Assembly 43 to 16 with bipartisan support. I am asking you to vote YES when it reaches your committee and/or the Senate floor.
